DevLog 6 We're working on a HUGE update!
5 months have passed since the last update for Rated Sudoku. Some of you might be worried that we have abandoned the game. However, the opposite is true, we are working very hard on a few HUGE features. They are so BIG, even though we have been working on them nonstop for 5 months, we still need a few more months to make them work seamlessly together and without issues.
What features will the next version have? Our plan is that the next version will have 4 new features.
- Campaigns feature that uses text and images as well as exercise puzzles to help you learn Sudoku. Which includes an official campaign, and the ability for players to make their own campaigns and upload them to the Steam Workshop.
- Sudoku Paint feature. Draw Sudoku board, with numbers and candidates, coloring, and as well as lines and text. It’s great when you need to explain your technique to others. The images can be embedded in campaigns.
- Sudoku Editor feature. Create your own puzzle and see the solution instantly as you enter the last number of the puzzle. With a single click, our game will eliminate unnecessary given numbers to give you a minimal puzzle(the minimum that is required for the puzzle to have a unique solution). This solver here can solve any classic Sudoku puzzle instantly.
- Sudoku Analyze feature. For most puzzles (including those you entered), our game will show you how to solve them step by step, what you can do at this step, and, what the rationale for doing so is, and what the name of the technique is. However, this feature can only solve Sudoku puzzles that can be solved by human techniques. If the puzzle can’t be solved with human techniques, this feature won’t help.
If everything goes smoothly, it is expected that this update can be released in this winter, and at that time, our game will be the most full-featured Sudoku game on Steam, so let’s wait and see! I won’t show screenshots of the new features in development here. I hope to give you a surprise when the new version comes out.
We’ve decided to postpone the development of the multiplayer feature, hopefully we will continue to work on that in 2025. For now, we’re focusing on the single-player aspect of the game.
By the way, we decided to adjust the price from 5, because we want to make it available to as many people as possible.
We will disappear for the next few months in order to dedicate all our time 100% on the game. When we come out (to the real world) again, hopefully it will be when the update is released, with all the features described above. See you then!
Please add the game to your Wishlist if you are excited about these features. We believe you won’t be disappointed with the next update! Let’s wait for the winter together!
